Dear colleagues,

It is with great honor and pride that I invite you to the second Montenegrin International Medical Summit (MIMS 2021), which is going to be organized in Podgorica, Montenegro, starting October 14th, to October 17th, 2021. I believe that the current pandemic situation and consequent issues should not be the reason to stop extending our knowledge and professional connections, but instead should be additional incentive to pursue these goals. MIMS is organized by students and supported by the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Montenegro, which is the center of academic education in Montenegro. Unity and collaboration are essential in order to organize the best possible gathering for all young doctors and students of Medicine, Pharmacy, and Dentistry. For this reason, we strive to extend and improve the current cooperation between our university and other universities within the region. Additionally, we endeavor to form new partnerships with universities beyond the Balkan region.

We are organizing the second MIMS congress, knowing the importance of such an event for students. We believe that this gathering will be a valuable experience for all participants, and that it will be a great opportunity to improve knowledge, exchange experiences and ideas, as well as make new acquaintances. All congress participants will have the opportunity to attend lectures conducted by leading experts from Montenegro and the surrounding region onawiderange of topics, with an emphasis placed on various aspects of COVID-19 due to the current pandemic which has left an immense impact worldwide. The congress will include plenary sessions of oral and poster presentations, as well as various engaging workshops. We are confident that this will be an excellent experience, and would appreaciate your participation and presence. The slogan for MIMS 2021 is Make every connection matter, as this global pandemic situation prompted us to realize the importance of staying connected and obtaining new connections.

We will adapt the form and organization of the congress according to epidemiological situation in the foreseea -future, and are looking forward to meet all of you in Podgorica in October.
